First-Year/Transfer Undergraduate
Undergraduate students must be registered for classes to be eligible for an RUconnection card.
Undergraduate students have access to Rutgers University libraries, computer labs, recreation centers, sporting events, RU Express accounts, and meal plans via their RUconnection card.
For the fall semester:
- Temporary RUconnection cards issued will provide access to housing, meal plans, and other facilities, until students are able to exchange the cad for a permanent RUconnection card in office
- RUconnection cards and Temporary RUconnection cards will be mailed to the permanent home address on file in August
- Notify the university registrar of any change of address immediately
- If an RUconnection card is not received two weeks prior to the beginning of the semester, one may be obtained beginning one week prior to the start of the fall semester
- School of Nursing students will not be mailed their ID cards and must pick up their id cards at one of the id card offices prior to the start of classes
We will be addressing inquiries in regards to your RUconnection card after August 24.
For the spring semester:
- Information about RUconnection photo sessions will be mailed to your home address from your dean
- Registered students can obtain RUconnection cards at any RUconnection card office after January 1 with a valid government-issued form of photo ID such as a driver's license or passport
